First of all I did not miss-spell the title. Yummly is in fact not only the perfect way to describe something overly delicious but it’s also my favourite new page. Recently I distanced myself from a few recipe and food picture sharing platforms because they seem to have forgotten that they are in fact places where we are supposed to share food.
Pictures just like pallets are so different that I think it is a crime to deny recipes the opportunity to be shared based on the opinions of individuals. And that is exactly why I was so excited to have found Yummly. Finally a platform that understands what food is about. Sharing without judgement and making it your own personalised experience,
I love Yummly because it is exactly what it says it is
Great recipes shared by home cooks, chefs and foodies in a place that values the ingredients and the taste more than anything else. The fact that you get your daily fix of fantastic pictures on top of it with customized suggestions based on what you like is just the cherry on the yummly cake.
Random Yummly goodness
As I already said you get daily suggestions and every once in a while you get this overly random recipe with a really awkward picture and wonder why in the world it ended up in your feed. Just like this recipe of blueberryy chia jam. This definitely is not the best picture but oh my … it is delicious! And this is what a food platform should be like. Food is supposed to be a sensual experience and can not be narrowed down to one simple picture and judged by the way it is lit or presented. Recipes should not be rejected because of the way a picture is taken or food is arranged, at least not in my book.
Finding recipes without getting sidetracked
I think we all have done this. Sat down to find a specific recipe and ended up looking through pictures of DIY projects and totally forgetting what we originally wanted to do. It happens. Way too often. Not on Yummly however.
Organize it with Yummly
Last but not least the most important feature. It offers you a recipe box you can use to add recipes from other sites, not just from Yummly. You can also create collections of recipes by creating any category you like, which is a fantastic way to keep everything organized. Who doesn’t love anything organized.
So after all this raving you can go and have a look at my Yummly page and if you already are there leave a comment with a link to yours!
