I love making this and the ratio is so easy to remember. Of course you can add anything to it that you like but if you stick to the basic ingredient rules it will never fail. Depending on how thick you want it to be you can swap the fresh berries for frozen ones. The more frozen ingredients the thicker the juice or smoothie. You can also add a frozen banana if you wish but let’s get to the Basic Berry Bomb first.
A good rule of thumb is using the double volume for the dry ingredients vs the liquid. I tend to wing it by using a large mug. Pour all dry ingredients in it: oats and berries until the mug is full. I pour that into the blender and then fill the same mug half way with coconut milk and add it to the berries and oats. I choose refrigerated fresh berries when they are in season but you might as well use frozen ones. This recipe yields 1 greedy vegan portion or two large portions of delicious berry smoothie.
- Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender until smooth and pour it into two large glasses or drinking jars. Garnish with a skewer filled with berries and enjoy.
